Alexander Graham Bell

When I was 29 years old I earned my patent for the telephone.                                       On March 7, 1876, the patent office exclaimed I, Alexander Graham Bell with the patent number of 174,465.  But yet, my device didn’t quite work.  Elisha Gray claimed to have invented the telephone.  Three days after I earned my patent, my device actually transmitted my voice. On March 10, 1876 I spilled acid on myself. My assistant Tom Watson was working another part of my house but luckily I connected an electrically charged wire and a receiver.  Tom clearly heard my call for help over the now patented telephone. “Mr. Watson come here I want to see you.”The court would now rule I, Alexander Graham Bell have invented the telephone.  “It was one of the best moments in my life.”On June 25, 1876, the day general George M. Custer and his troops were demolished at the battle of Little Big Horn in
Montana, the new patented telephone was demonstrated at the Centennial Exposion in
Philadelphia to a small group of judges.  They gave me credit for my fabulous work.  Among one of those members of the committee was Elisha Gray.  Elisha Gray incidentally was not among the other people that contested my claim to be the telephone inventor.  I always look back for what I have accomplished when I use the telephone; it tells me that I have invented something useful in the world.  I chose to invent the telephone because I wanted people would notice me more and make a difference.  When I earned my patent number it struck me that I should work harder to prove that I could invent the telephone.  Now I think I could prove anything if someone gives me a challenge.
